Terms of Service
Last updated: 13 October 2026
These Terms of Service apply to the website at gutscience.au and purchases of hard copy books and online courses from [trading as Gut Science] (ABN 38410997991), referred to as “we”, “us” or “our”.
Please read these terms before making a purchase. By placing an order, you agree to these terms and our Returns and Refunds Policy.
1. Using Our Website
You must use our website lawfully. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access, introduce malicious software, interfere with the website’s operation, or use it for fraudulent purposes.
Information you provide when creating an account or placing an order must be accurate and current.
2. Products and Course Information
We aim to describe our books and courses accurately. Please review the relevant product page before purchasing.
For online courses, the product page will describe the content, inclusions, delivery format, access period and any technical requirements. Live sessions, personal support, assessments or certificates are included only where expressly stated.
Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility to supply products and services as described or meet our obligations under Australian Consumer Law.
3. Prices and Payments
Prices are displayed in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise. Applicable GST is included in the displayed price. Any delivery charges will be shown before you complete your purchase.
Payment is required at checkout unless we expressly offer another arrangement.
Where a payment plan is offered, the total price, instalment amounts and payment dates will be disclosed before purchase. A payment plan spreads the cost of the purchase; it is not a subscription unless expressly described as one. Your rights to cancel or receive a refund under Australian Consumer Law still apply.
Price changes apply to future purchases and do not change the price of an order already accepted.
4. Orders
After you place an order, we will send confirmation to the email address you provide.
If we cannot fulfil your order, we will notify you promptly and refund any payment for the unavailable item or course.
If we identify a material pricing or description error affecting your order, we will explain the error and give you the choice of proceeding on the corrected terms or cancelling for a full refund.
5. Book Delivery
Please provide a complete and accurate delivery address.
Delivery timeframes are estimates unless expressly guaranteed. If your book is delayed, damaged in transit or does not arrive, please contact us so we can investigate and provide an appropriate remedy.
Returns and refunds are handled under our Returns and Refunds Policy and Australian Consumer Law.
6. Online Course Access
Course access will be provided using the method and timeframe described at purchase.
Your enrolment is for your individual use unless you purchase a licence expressly allowing multiple users. Please keep your login details secure and contact us if you suspect unauthorised access.
You must not share your account or provide course materials to others except where we expressly permit this or the law allows it.
Your access period is the period stated at purchase. We will not shorten that period without your agreement, except where access is suspended or ended for a material breach under these terms.
You are responsible for having the equipment and internet connection needed to meet the technical requirements disclosed before purchase. If you experience access problems, please contact us for assistance.
7. Course Content and Outcomes
Our books and courses provide educational information. Unless expressly stated in the course description, enrolment does not provide an accredited qualification or professional certification.
Individual results may vary depending on factors such as participation, experience and application of the material. We do not promise a particular outcome unless we expressly make that commitment.
These terms do not exclude any consumer guarantee or responsibility arising from representations we make about a book or course.
8. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, we own or license the website content, books, videos, course materials, graphics and other resources.
Your course purchase gives you permission to access and use the included materials for your own learning during the stated access period. Materials expressly provided for download may be retained for your personal use.
You must not reproduce, sell, distribute, publicly upload or commercially exploit our materials without written permission, except where permitted by law. This does not restrict lawful use or resale of a physical book you own.
9. Participation and Conduct
Where a course includes live sessions, discussions or a community, participants must treat others respectfully.
You must not harass others, post unlawful or discriminatory content, share another person’s private information without permission, or disrupt participation.
If you submit content, you retain ownership of it. You give us permission to use it only as reasonably necessary to deliver and administer the course or community. We will seek separate permission before using your identifiable contributions or testimonials for marketing.
10. Suspension or Termination of Access
We may suspend or end access where reasonably necessary to address a material breach, such as unauthorised sharing of course materials, serious misconduct or an overdue agreed payment.
Where practicable, we will explain the issue and give you a reasonable opportunity to resolve it. Immediate suspension may be necessary to protect other participants, personal information or the security of our services.
Any action will be proportionate to the circumstances. Suspension or termination does not automatically remove your entitlement to a refund or other remedy under Australian Consumer Law.
11. Returns, Refunds and Consumer Rights
Our Returns and Refunds Policy forms part of these terms.
We do not offer change-of-mind returns for hard copy books or change-of-mind refunds once online course access has been provided.
Except where required by Australian Consumer Law, refunds for hard copy books are available only if the book is damaged in transit or does not arrive.
Our products and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies those guarantees or any other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Where a product or service fails to meet a consumer guarantee, we will provide the remedy required by law.
12. Availability and Changes to Courses
We may carry out maintenance or update course materials to keep them accurate and useful. We will take reasonable steps to minimise disruption.
Updates will not materially reduce the content, inclusions or access period agreed at purchase without your consent.
If we cannot deliver a course as agreed, or propose a material change, we will notify you and provide any options and remedies required by Australian Consumer Law.
13. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information.
Please read it before creating an account or making a purchase.
14. Third-Party Websites and Services
Our website or courses may link to third-party resources. Those providers are responsible for their own content and privacy practices.
Where we use a third-party platform to deliver a course or process payments, this does not remove our obligations to you under Australian Consumer Law.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms for future purchases by publishing a revised version with a new “Last updated” date.
The terms in effect when you purchase will continue to apply to that purchase unless you agree to a change or a change is required by law.
16. Questions and Complaints
Please contact angela@gutscience.au with questions or complaints, including your order details where relevant.
We will consider your concerns and work with you to resolve them. You remain free to contact a consumer protection agency or pursue other remedies available by law.
17. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia and applicable Commonwealth laws.
Nothing in this clause limits any mandatory consumer protection or your right to bring proceedings in a court or tribunal with jurisdiction.
