Understanding the microbiome in modern healthcare

Designed to provide nurses with a broader understanding of microbiome science and its growing relevance in modern healthcare.

Why the microbiome matters.

Research into the gut microbiome continues to grow rapidly across all areas of health and disease.

Unfortunately, this rapid growth has left both healthcare professionals and patients increasingly exposed to conflicting, oversimplified and often misleading information.

This program is designed to help nurses build a broader understanding of microbiome science, its interconnected role within the human body, and its growing relevance across all areas of health care.

Through clear, evidence-based education, the program aims to support confidence, critical thinking and scientific literacy in an area that is evolving quickly.

Although designed to support professional development and broader clinical understanding, the program also offers significant personal value.

Many participants find that understanding the microbiome and the interconnected nature of the body helps reduce confusion, improve confidence around health information, and create a more informed and balanced perspective on their own wellbeing.

This is designed for professionals who:

  • Are curious about the growing role of the microbiome in modern healthcare and chronic disease research.
  • Want a broader understanding of how gut health, lifestyle and environment influence whole-body health.
  • Are looking for evidence-based professional development that expands clinical thinking beyond isolated symptoms.
  • Want to feel more confident navigating the increasing patient interest in gut health and microbiome-related information.
  • Are interested in connecting emerging science with real-world healthcare conversations.
